Behind the mask, nothing is quite what it seems. The Masque of the Red Smoke is a dark and mysterious smoked black tea where rich woodsmoke meets tart currant, gooseberry, and subtle botanicals, creating a cup worthy of Poe’s shadowy world.

The Masque of the Red Smoke is a bold, smoky black tea with dark fruit, tart currant, and an intriguing hint of gooseberry. Smoked black tea forms the heart of the blend, bringing a deep, woodsy character reminiscent of a fire burning somewhere beyond the ballroom doors.

Currant leaf and natural currant flavor introduce a dark, slightly tart fruitiness, while gooseberry adds a brighter tang that cuts through the heavier smoke. Arabica leaf adds another layer of earthy complexity, while blue cornflower and safflower provide subtle botanical notes.

Our three leaf blend of blackberry, dandelion, and raspberry leaves, along with additional blackberry leaf, rounds out the blend with gentle earthy and dark berry notes.

The result is a deep, smoky black tea with tart currant, bright gooseberry, dark berry undertones, and a lingering woodsmoke finish. Bold and unusual, the fruit provides just enough brightness to emerge through the smoke without diminishing its dark character.
